据出国留学网新西兰移民顾问介绍说，移民评分系统是申请新西兰技术移民的第一步，当申请人有意向新西兰申请技术移民时，首先需要通过新西兰移民局的评分，只有在满足基本的分数线以后，才可以向移民局正式提交EOI(Expressions of Interest, 移民意向申请)。新西兰技术移民评分，根据现有的政策，满100分可以进入候选池(EOI Pool)中等待入选，满140分无需等待自动被选出。 所以如果您计划申请新西兰技术移民，至少需要100分或以上，才有申请资格。
新西兰移民局每隔两周在候选池里按上面的标准来进行挑选，顺利挑选出的申请人，移民局将向申请人正式发出邀请函(ITA)，如果分数在140分以下，你的EOI申请最多可以在候选池里保留6个月，也就是最多可以参加12轮评选。
